Andromeda the most worthy target. One that I've ignored...guessing due to overload. (Search Astrobin for M31 you get 210 pages; search Andromeda you get 226 more pages. search Google for the Milky Way and you get images of Andromeda. But recently, not many IOTD...the last was a stunning Ha version #Andromeda by @Vicent Peris Feb 2022, none in 2021, then four in 2020. Guess the judging team also have Andromeda overload 🤪). Now my mind is made up to image it at least every other year no matter what.

For this image, the RGB and Ha was taken from my backyard while the luminance was taken recently at Mt Pinos. I found it an absolute beast to process. I would not expect less from such a worthy target. The WO81gt with reducer turned out to be a perfect fit. I did notice a little dark spot in M101, but verified it's real from this tight image #here by @avolight. I first imaged two years ago when I was starting out in this avocation #I Love Andromeda. It is still one of my favorites. -john

Description: SCNR remove green...again. thanks Miguel Noppe! still a touch of green in the core though maybe I need to calibrate my monitor.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
