Description

Continued imaging of Venus during the 2021 evening apparition.  These images were captured on the night of November 30, 2021. Venus was 38.7 arcsec in diameter and ~29% illuminated in this image. Taken around sunset under average to below average seeing conditions.  Venus has been a tough target this apparition between the low altitude and a run of unfavorable seeing conditions.  Still interesting to capture the progression...

Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO ADC, Baader UV-IR Cut filter, and ZWO ASI224MC. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/20. Image capture using Firecapture (see below for exposure settings). Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 2% of ~60000 frames captured over 180 seconds). Color balancing and Wavelet sharpening in Registax6. Derotated and combined three images in WinJUPOS.

Exposure settings for UV-IR Cut Filter images: Shutter=0.6ms, Gain=250, Histogram=52%, ~300 FPS
