Description

Located in the constellation Orion, the Witch Head nebula is a faint dust cloud that is illuminated by the nearby star Rigel (out of frame to the right side). The faint stripe near the chin area is caused by the steady parade of satellites in geosynchronous orbit streaming through the object. From different latitudes, this stripe appears higher or lower in the object.
