Description

A rarely imaged emission nebula in Cepheus. I initially just framed this around the dark nebula and Sh2-135, and was pleasantly surprised to find pillar-like structures on the left side.

Inspiration for target selection came from this widefield mosaic image made by my friend Axel: https://www.astrobin.com/iljbhe/

We had an unusual stretch of clear nights around Summer solstice here this year. One positive effect of a heat wave I guess. Nights were very short and we only had nautical twilight, but with narrowband filters it was still possible to image effectively.
