Description

One of my favorite nebulae. This thing is so bright I could see it pretty clearly in a 2 second exposure in the autoguider. Actually, the main difficulty in processing it is that the core is so bright it's hard to pull out the outer regions without killing the detail in the center. I approached it by using masked stretches (manually, not the masked stretch tool in PI) with progressively larger, fuzzy selections.

I didn't make any comparable measurements, but I think transparency was quite exceptional for the site. Seeing seemed pretty good as well.
