Description

Rupes Recta is a long and nearly straight fault on the south-eastrn edge of Mare Nubium. It is about 110 kn long, 1 or 3 km wide and some 250 meters high. At upper right is the large crater Arzachel. Below it, and to Rupes Recta's right, is the crater Thebit. The eastern part of Mare Nubium is visible at left. Just to the left of Rupes Recta lies the 16-km-wide crater Birt, which is adjacent to an ancient lava channel called Rima Birt.
