Description

This was one of the most spectacular meteors I have ever witnessed, captured over Pinnacles National Park on the morning of June 2nd, 2014. It was bright and relatively slow-moving in the northern sky, and it exhibited two big explosive bursts, as evidenced by the two knots in the trail. The second burst was accompanied by a faint but audible boom! It is very rare to HEAR a meteor, so this was awesome! Anyone else hear it?

This was a 3-minute shot with a Canon EOS 6D and Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 ED lens at F/2.8, 20mm, ISO 3200.
