Description

The Target
Like the Andromeda Galaxy M31, M33 in the constellation Triangulum is another celestial neighbor to the Milky Way.  At 2.73 million ly distance, it is only slightly more distant than M31 (2.5 mly).  It is interesting to compare the relative size of M33 and M31, and this can be seen in my recent images of both galaxies since both images were taken with the same camera and scope.

Processing
This image of M33 is fully calibrated with B/D/F's, but only slightly processed with light stretching and simple S-curve stretch to add some contrast.  There is no noise reduction and no saturation change in the processing.  The camera is uncooled, and unmodified.  Temperature of the camera ranged between +13°C to +29°C over the three nights of imaging.  Given the relatively high camera temperatures, I think it is worth noting the very low level of noise produced by the Canon M50.  Please do take a minute to pixel peek and let me know what you think .

Rev D Update:
6 hours of higher-noise/worse-seeing data was removed and replaced with 2 hours of cleaner data.  The resulting 9.8hr integration image is higher resolution with lower noise.  Processing is similar, but initial arcsinh stretch was a bit stronger and S-curve a bit deeper.
