Description

A beautiful reflection nebula, NGC1333 is dominated by bluish hues characteristic of starlight reflected by interstellar dust.   It lies at the edge of the Perseus molecular cloud complex, an active star-forming region located only 1,000 light-years from Earth.

Barnard 205 is the dark nebula that surrounds the Embryo Nebula and if you look closely, just to the left of the blue Embryo Nebula, you will see several bright red Herbig-Haro objects - regions where stars are actively being formed. Barnard 204 is the dark dust cloud surrounding the blue nebula in the upper left and Barnard 3 is the dark nebula in the upper right, with a curtain of glowing hydrogen and oxygen that extends downward from behind it.

Wishing you clear skies!    🔭
