Description

This is an image of one of my favorite areas on the moon. Above center lies Montes Alpes and Vallis Alpes. The large craters at top right are Aristoteles and Eudoxus. The vertical mountain range right of center is Montes Caucasus. The promonent crater at bottom center is Aristillus. Above it lies the eroded Cassini. Left of Cassini lies a lonely mpuntain - Mons Piton. The bottom left part of the image shows the northern part of Mare Imbrium which is lit by the sun.
