Description

The Trifid Nebula in Sagittarius. RGB data collected through a SkyWatcher Quattro 10" on AP Mach2 GTO. The camera is an old SBIG 8300m with 5 positions filter wheel. Total acquisition time is about 8 hours.

The Trifid Nebula (catalogued as Messier 20 or M20 and as NGC 6514) is an H II region located in Sagittarius. It was discovered by Charles Messier on June 5, 1764.[3] Its name means 'divided into three lobes'.
