Description

This is our Milky Way galaxy, from constellation Cygnus (top), down towards the galactic core. The bright, bluish star off to the the right is Vega, one of the brightest stars in the sky, and part of the Lyra constellation, as well as being one of the vertices of the Summer Trinagle.

I find it truly humbling to recognize that those thick vertical bands of luminosity are actually BILLIONS of distant stars forming a mere cloud of faint light in Earth's night sky. I absolutely love this hobby, this ability to showcase the captured light that has literally traveled light-years across the universe to ultimately end up on my camera's sensor.
