Wind tossing the scope to and fro. Chiller running at 2.5 A, but I'm still seeing 19 °C, which suggests something is wrong. Probably should have chosen a target which would have used a focal reducer tonight. Did meridian flip and continued; things seemed to settle down some.

In the B revision, used a newer version of StarTools (1.3.5.289) and stretched a bit less aggressively to get rid of the nasty background cast. Also did not use the Life module. This means NGC 7331 stands out a bit less, but I think I prefer this revision.

In the C revision, used more aggressive Autodev, more aggressive masked deconvolution and a little less color saturation.

Guiding: 9x50 Finder/Guider + DSI Ic + PHD 2.3.1 (Win 7 ASCOM)

Camera: DSI IIc chiller at 2.50 A, 15 °C

Acquisition: Nebulosity 3.2.1, no dither

Exposure: 61x300 s

Stacking: Neb 3, bad pixel map, bias included, no flats, normalize first, trans+rot align, 1.5 SD stack.

Processing: StarTools 1.3.5.279 Crop; Wipe:Color & brightness 75%; Develop 89.78%; HDR:Reveal Core; Deconvolute auto mask 3.1 pix; Life:Moderate; Color:Scientific, 275%; Track RNC 32.11%; Magic:Shrink 2 pix. Photoshop CC 2014 Astronomy Tools Increase star color; Deep space noise reduction; Make stars smaller (2x); Levels; Astro Frame.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
