Description

This is my first flat field image taken with my new ATIK 383L Monochrome CCD. I purchased a Gerd Neumann Aurora panel at OPT Corp. This seems to have relieved a lot of pressure on me being worried about vignetting. Now I hardly see any! My Sky Quality Meter reading was 21.37 on an exceptionally clear night at my close by dark site. The only thing to upset the session was a hit with the filter wheel on one of the tripod legs due to a needed meridian flip. This happened just after I completed 10 x 10min subframes of Ha. I plate solved for the first time before going out, so I had my exact center RA & Dec. I just had to recall them on my hand paddle and so I paused the sequence and did the flip. Upside down of course with the camera, but I managed to do a 180° rotate on my Ha image and align it with the other R, G. & B's. I took 10 X 600 sec Ha; 10 X 300 sec Red; 8 X 300 sec Green; 8 X 300 sec Blue. Imaged with an ATIK 383l+ mono ccd, .8X reducer, Baader Ha, LRGB filters and 80mm APO refractor. Imaged with Nebulosity3, Sequenced with Sequence Generator Pro. Processed with Nebulosity3 and Photoshop CS6.
