Description

This image has been the ultimate challenge. 11 hours exposure just for Ha channel and 16 for LRGB. It´s truly remarkable how intrecade this region is, from very faint Ha structures to lavish bright reflection areas.

I´ve dedicated 10+ hours just for processing Ha channel, trying to display it´s minor (great) details.

During the processing stage I´ve stopped few times just to absorb and witness how mesmerizing and stunning this nebula structure is. One of my favorite projects so far, that´s for sure!

" NGC 1788 is an unusual reflection nebula (bluish white at the center of the image) surrounded by a glowing red area of hydrogen gas. The stars inside the nebula are only about a million years old. The ring of glowing hydrogen gas is energized by nearby hot, massive stars not visible in the image.

The delicate nebula NGC 1788, located in a dark and often neglected corner of the Orion constellation, is revealed in this finely nuanced image. Although this ghostly cloud is rather isolated from Orion’s bright stars, their powerful winds and light have a strong impact on the nebula, forging its shape and making it a home to a multitude of infant suns."
