Description

Shhh... come closer! It's ok, they're millions of kilometres away, they won't hurt you.

Besides, they're babies.

See the bright one in the centre? Having a bit of a tantrum, energizing the gas nearby, shoving it around with screams of UV light.

Now, look to the right, see the dark black spots? Yep that's them. Those Bok globules are birthing new stars. Inside these dark regions, dust and gas molecules are sticking to each other under gravity.

As the clumps grow bigger in their stellar wombs, they'll start to spin and draw in more gas and dust. Eventually, once they've eaten enough they'll start fusing Hydrogen into Helium and let the universe know they're alive. The little darlings probably have a bit of wind... See how they shape the gas around them? Look at the bottom right and upper left. There... you see it now. It's highly likely they're burping up some planets too.

There is a lot of movement and activity here. Nothing is still, but none of it is chaos. It is gravity, momentum, chemistry all working together to birth new stars, who in turn grow old and transform the simplest of elements into the most complex.

This is the truest story of creation. Those elements made under incomprehensible levels of comprehensible forces eventually come together to form everything in this universe, including you and me.
