Description

The Flaming Star Nebula is lit by the bright irregular Variable Star AE Aurigae (although a second rather bright star also appears to be involved lighting the 2nd tendril of Nebulosity). While most of the Nebular Gas illuminated is Hydrogen, there is actually no chance that the "Flaming Star" could set it afire - as there is to little gas and no available Oxygen for an actual fire.

Imaged just before Thanksgiving at our SE AZ Dark Site (TAAA CAC).
