Description

Every star in this image is part of our galaxy. The two smudges however are galaxies of their own. NGC 147 and 185 form a binary system in a stable orbit about 2 million light years away, around our galactic neighbor the Andromeda galaxy. Although they look very much like elliptical galaxies with properties such as little to no gas or dust, which leaves them faceless and quite boring to look at, these multi million star clusters are classed as dwarf spheroidal galaxies because of their size and shape. NGC 185, the galaxy on the left contains an active nucleus meaning it emits a lot of energetic activity and probably has a black hole at its centre.

Not much to look at, taken a few months back and wasnt in any rush to process the data.
