Description

11.7 million light years away int he constellation Centaurus, NGC 4945 has an active Seyfert type nucleus indicative of a supermassive black hole. Visual magnitude 9, this is an easy telescopic galaxy for Southern observers. Also visible is NGC 4976, and another spiral hiding behind a star, and if you look closely, lots of faint anonymous galaxies hiding in the noise...
