Description

The curse of the new camera ☺️ very few clear nights to use the camera and no astronomical darkness now until August so a relatively short time for me to play with the camera. I’m liking the lower read noise, dark current and smaller pixels compared to my 383L and flat fields seems to work much better, oh and the lack of a mechanical shutter means I can image the Moon . Getting to know the modes and gain settings are new to me compared to a CCD, @Paul H provided very helpful info and @jerryyyyy a very helpful post on using the new generalised hyperbolic stretch which I’ve (tried to!) use on this image

looking forward to the late summer/autumn when I can hopefully fully explore the possibilities with the camera.

Title: Gibbous Moon

Description: Imaged with the 12" and QHY268M, 6x0.005s exposures, I like the ability to fit the whole Moon on the sensor :-)
