Jupiter's moons through 20x80 binoculars

Used my Celestron Skymaster 20x80mm stacked manually (really, really HARD to do) to my Lumix GH2 in a tripod. It's a single shot, simple stuff. Just wanted to find out if i could capture what i see through the binoculars. No post processing or anything, just saved and uploaded the JPG off from the RAW file.

I don't have any telescope. I really want one, i think i'll get one later just for astrophotography in the future.

Anyways i have this pair of Celestron Skymaster 20x80 binoculars which i've been using since some years, they're awesome. You can see jupiter's moons, saturn's rings and such things, the downside is that the image is really small with almost no detail. Anyways it is still magnificent for a pair of binoculars.

I used my Panasonic Lumix GH2 on a tripod, pointing at the eyepiece of the binoculars which were already pointed to jupiter. After more or less 100 different pictures i managed to capture a decent one with jupiter and it's moons visible. Exposed for just one and half a second, with 400 ISO and aperture at 3.5f with Lumix G Vario 14/43mm 3.5/5.6f.

Keep in mind that this was a simple experiment, at the moment i couldn't capture jupiter's moons in a different way than this so i gave it a shot.

No post processing, just cropping and saving as JPG.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
