Sunset over Sagrada Observatory

Description

Since the weather is forecast to be overcast for another week, I thought I would post a photo of a new addition to our home and Sagrada Observatory.  This last April 2022, we installed an "on-grid" solar installation, which will be upgraded to a full 40 KWH battery backup system in November.  In practical terms, this installation produces on average about 110 KWH of power per day here in sunny New Mexico.   Of course, when it is very overcast or raining, its energy production drops considerably -- typically in half.  Since the Solar Controller is programable, we can use the Battery System for energy consumption at night, and recharge the Battery Banks during the day.  All-in-all, it is a nice addition to our home, and the Sagrada Observatory.

On a technical note:  We are using 46 - LG Neon 400 panels, with Enphase IQ Controllers, into 4 - Enphase 10T Battery banks, which works in concert to accomplish an AC-Coupled electrical/storage system.  The Enphase 10T Batteries use Lithium iron phosphate (LTP) chemistry, which offers a higher degree of safety.
