Description

Today I'd like to present to you a photo that means a lot to me personally. I could spend a bunch of time explaining why but I'll spare you those details to give you the technical stuff.

Captured with my Redcat51 and the Explore Scientific ED80 FCD100 (reduced .65x). I combined the data from one night of imaging at a Bortle 4 (21.32) location nearby to me. The Redcat captured Hydrogen Alpha while the ED80 captured RGB data. I have really come to love this combo but unfortunately I can only do this from a dark location. Regardless, because I captured at slightly different focal lengths with different cameras, the stars appeared to have a diamond shape to them. However, after star aligning with distortion correction enabled, and then drizzling the data, the stars worked themselves back to a perfect round shape which was wonderful. I had to create a synthetic lum using all the data which allowed me to really enhance the Ha in the image while also keeping the brighter reflection nebulae.

"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist." 1 Colossians 1:16-17
