Description

Comparison of an unfiltered and a dual-narrow-band (H alpha and O III) filtered image of the Crab Nebula, with the stars removed using Starnet++ V2. The images show the nebula's jet or chimney seen primarily in O III (green) in the north (Van den Bergh 1970, ApJ, 160, L27; Gull & Fesen 1982, ApJ, 260, L75; Black & Fesen 2105, MNRAS, 447, 2540) and the extension of the synchrotron emission (grey-white) beyond the thermal filaments in the northwest (Velusamy 1984, Nature, 308, 251; Loll et al. 2013, ApJ, 765, 152). Stacks of 28x180s & 48x300s exposures.
