Description

IC 2220 is a bipolar and bi conical reflection nebula created from a cloud of gas and dust expelled from and illuminated by the red giant star HD 65750 which is inside the nebula.
The nebula , also known as the Toby Jug Nebula.was named by three British astronomers who thought the shape was similar to an old English drinking vessel known as a Toby Jug.
The nebula differs from most other reflection nebula in that it is orange in color which is pretty unusual!  I personally think it looks like a beetle in space!

Imaged in LRGB on the Planewave CDK 1000 at Observatorio El Sauce, Chile.
