Description

Swan Nebula in SHO narrowband palette (M17, NGC 6618) is in H II region in the constellation Sagittarius. Distance: 5,500 light-years (1690 parsecs) . One of the brightest and most massive star-forming regions in our galaxy, the Omega or Swan Nebula, came to resemble the shape resembling a swan's neck. Can you see it?
