Description

7 Years ago ESA landed a robotic probe on the surface of this comet!
Even if it might not look like it but this is the coolest image I have taken so far!
In 2004 ESA launched a mission to Comet 67P/Chruryumov-Gerasimenko for the most detailed study of a comet ever attempted. 10 years later the spacecraft arrived and dispatched a lander for the first ever touchdown on the surface of a comet.
Although comet 67P has an orbital period of about 7 years, it wont get this close to earth again for the next 193 years!

Image taken on the 10th of December 2021 from my b4-5 backyard in Bavaria.
