Description

This “small” cluster of galaxies is about 35 million light years from earth and resides in the constellation of Leo. There are 3 galaxies. M65, in the upper right and M66, in the lower right are both classified as intermediate spiral galaxies. NGC 3628 is on the left. Fittingly known as the Hamburger Galaxy, it is classified as an unbarred spiral galaxy. The view in the image is seen end-on and the hamburger “meat” is really a band of dust located along the outer arms of the galaxy.
