Description

Sharpless 2-187 is a HII emission nebula surrounded by a molecular cloud complex in the constellation Cassiopeia. Within the nebula are many infrared sources indicating star formation. The area is extremely dusty and faint dust is all over the image suppressing the huge number of stars in this portion of the Milky Way. The image was taken at the Eldorado Star Party in Eldorado Texas in October using a SVX 152T refractor, ASI 6200 CMOS camera through a Eagle 3pro computer. It combines a total of 9.32hrs of exposure time through LRGB filters.
