Description

NGC 663 and NGC 654 are open star clusters in the constellation Cassiopeia.  NGC 663 was discovered by William Herschel in 1787.  This cluster is approximately 20 million years old and 7,000 light-years distant.  NGC 654, also discovered by Herschel in 1787, is estimated 7,830 light-years from Earth with an approximate age of 14 million years.
