Description

For the whole Veil Nebula...It's a cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust.  Located in the Cygnus constellation about 2,400 light-years from Earth. The whole Veil Nebula is a giant supernova remnant. The source was a massive star that was about 20 times larger than our Sun. This star exploded around 10 to 20 thousand years ago, which is long before it was discovered by WIlliam Herschel in September of 1784.
