Description

This is a shot of the Gegenschien and the zodiacal band blazing overhead a week after the 2019 autumnal equinox in the Kalahari desert. SQM hit 22.13 on this night.

I measured the Geg at roughly 40 degrees long by 15 degrees wide at culmination, when it was rising i couldnt figure out what the heck was going on at first, its huge !

The Andromeda galaxy can be seen rising out of the airglow.
