Description

This image is a 2 panel mosaic. The field shows the region of high galactic latitude cirrus nebulae around MBM 7 and MBM 8.  There is also LBN 707 and LBN 711  in this field as well as molecular clouds identified in the PGCC catalog. MBM 7&8 are  about 550 to 850 light years distant and about 430 light years south of the galactic plane. The field is fairly rich with background galaxies including Arp 276 (a galactic pair) and NGC 918, 924, 932, 938 as well as many more distandt galaxies. The field shows a number of Quasars (or Quasar candidates) that are visible in the image -  the most distant has a redshift of 2.86 and a look back of 11.43 billion years . Toward the right center edge is a distant galaxy cluster WHL J022204.6+184628 - it has a redshift of 0.2249 and is 2.676 billion light years distant.  These objects and some of the brighter stars are identified in the annotated image.
