En la imagen podemos ver el campo en el que se encuentra WR 134. Habitualmente, esta imagen se muestra en paleta HOO, mucho más dramática. Sin embargo, el campo es rico en SII y la paleta SHO muestra una sutileza y una gama de mezcla de gases muy superior. Son un total de 34 horas en tomas de 900", a lo largo de 7 noches, desde un cielo Bortle 7. Tal vez podría haberlo tomado con exposiciones más cortas, pero lo cierto es que me siento cómodo con las exposiciones largas...

Por otro lado, quería mostrar una imagen un tanto diferente de este objeto. Es habitual verlo en HOO, sin duda ofreciendo un aspecto bastante más dramático. Pero se pierde parte de la riqueza del campo que, con la paleta SHO, adquiere una luminosidad y un detalle, en mi opinión, maravillosos.

In the image we can see the field in which WR 134 is located. Usually, this image is shown in HOO palette, much more dramatic. However, the field is rich in SII and the SHO palette shows a much higher subtlety and range of gas mixing. This is a total of 34 hours in 900" shots, over 7 nights, from a Bortle 7 sky.

Maybe I could have taken it with shorter exposures, but the truth is that I feel comfortable with long exposures....

On the other hand, I wanted to show a somewhat different image of this object. It is usual to see it in HOO, certainly offering a rather more dramatic look. But it loses some of the richness of the field which, with the SHO palette, acquires a luminosity and detail, in my opinion, wonderful.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.

Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
