Description

This image is a mosaic with three panels and a blend between RGB (each panel around 4h30min) and HOO data (each panel around 7h30min). It was taken in seven nights at bortle 4.

The Veil Nebula is the remain of a supernova which took place around 8000 years ago. The star that exploded was a red giant which must have been brighter than Venus in the night sky. The nebula was discovered in 1784 by Wilhelm Herschel.

I hope you like it!
