Description

My project to photograph all the Sharpless 2 catalog objects that are at least 1/2° in size leads me to nebulae that are faint and rarely photographed.  One of these is Sh2-111 in Cygnus, almost in Pegasus (and Vulpecula).  It is informative to look around the images with care for any interesting objects and indeed in the teal colored light of Oxygen III this field shows a small circular object.  I sent the OIII image to the folks who keep track of such things, planetarynebulae.net, and indeed this is a new previously unidentified object that will be registered as Planetary Nebula El-1. It is amazing that a new planetary nebulae in the Milky Way can be revealed using a telescope of 107mm aperture!
