Description

The HII region Sh 2-261 is often called Lower's nebula because it appears on a photographic plate taken by the father-and-son team of Harold and Charles Lower in 1939. The Lowers were amateur astronomers, accomplished telescope makers and pioneering astrophotographers from San Diego, California. Harold Lower published a pamphlet in 1939 describing an 8-inch Schmidt camera that he and his son had constructed several years previously. He notes that the camera has been especially useful in photographing what are now called HII regions.  ~ Galaxy Map

This target took several nights to collect a decent amount of integration despite the frequent cloud cover this, Winter. Processing had its difficulties both with stretching & finding an astronomical solution after adding the stars back in. I was attempting to get the fits header info from one of the subs to transfer into an auto cropped image. This morning, I realized that I needed a fits header from an auto cropped processed file to transfer the info. I chose the Ha file and Image Solver found the solution.

Thanks for looking,

Clear Skies,

Todd
