Description

The image title is a bit of an inside joke.  I pulled the newtonian inside for what I hope is the last modification it will need.  I noticed that the tube underneath the focuser could flex which made the imaging train sag in different directions while slewing around.  I had some tube rings laser cut from aluminum and turned some dowel nuts on the lathe.  I put a few pictures in the revisions.  The focuser is much more stable now and I'm hoping it will hold collimation at any angle.

Title: Secondary mirror alignment tool

Description: I've also made a tool for aligning the rotational axis of the secondary to the focuser. The tool is placed in the focuser and the plate is pushed in until it is a mm or two from the secondary. You then simply ensure that the bottom edge of the plate and the reflected edge are parallel and you've got simple alignment.
