Description

An attempt with my Nikon D750 to further learn the art of nightscape imaging. I need to acquire a couple more lenses and employ a star tracker to capture finer Milky Way details, but am content for now to just learn the basics and enjoy some more time under dark skies.

This little jalopy has not tasted gasoline for many laps around our Sun, but was probably a real chick magnet back in the day! It now hosts a symbiotic life form on its windows (lichen) and a dense network of spider webs within ... somewhat like galaxy filaments. I managed to position a LED video light into one of the "voids".

It reminds me of the flying Ford Anglia in Harry Potter which got stuck in the Womping Willow.

Background 6 x 15sec, ISO6400, f/2.8

Foreground 3 x 20sec, ISO500, f/5

Sequator for stacking background sky.

Photoshop for blending, then Lightroom/PixInsight for edits.
