Description

Finally got a breakthrough in my L flat calibration. I have a light panel behind the scope and put the mount at Park 4 position and shoot flats. The last couple nights and days, I have tested several weird combinations, put the scope in Park 4, turn on cam take flats; Turn on cam, then put in park 4...no luck. The donut stayed at the same spot. Just off by a hair when compared with the lights.

So last night I ran a test sky flats and calibrated, and it just worked fine. Which makes me wonder if at Park 4 the FW carousel is getting shifted every so slightly by gravity. Can't think of anything else that would cause a miscalibration. R G B work fine as those filters are clean at the moment.

This is not a great image by any means and with the moon up in the face, I just went with this target to test LRGB calibration.

Clear skies!

Title: No baffle - L flat

Description: This is what I was facing when imaging two RGB targets mid august, a central hot spot that resulted in the stacked Master light to have the reverse effect. Hazy and bright center and immediate light drop off

Title: Flat after using an extension on the primary baffle

Description: A fellow astrophotographer in the next obs 3D printed an extension tube and when inserted, it just blunted the whole hot spot. One thing I am not a 100% certain is if there is any loss of good light remotely and I have no means to test other than comparing data on the same targets I attempted back in August.
