Description

Trying to find a decent vantage point in the back yard to take some pictures, a Celestron AVX and William Optics 81 mm refractor were balanced on some rocks next to an old Vixen P-60L on a Vixen Polaris mount with a Canon T3i side-mounted on a bracket. The Polaris converts to alt-az by flipping the latitude to 90 degrees vertical. At the last minute, a little frantic hedge clipping allowed a decent view of the moon by about 7 pm Pacific time.

This picture was taken with a ZWO ASI174MM attached to a WO 81mm GT with LRGB filters in a ZWO filter wheel, approximately 2 minutes per channel.
