Description

VDB 158 is a reflection nebula in Andromeda with some nearby colorful stars adding some interest. This image was taken on a night with poor seeing and wind gusts that were really creating problems, so I'm not even sure how I got a presentable image out of it at this focal length (~ 2000 mm). Wide-field views show that the dusty nebulosity belonging to LBN 534 forms a hatchet-like shape. These nebulae were brighter than I expected, and perhaps they should be imaged more often.
