Description

The moon (well, parts of it) and Jupiter imaged in near-IR on Saturday night, November 24th, 2023.  Shot through high clouds, haze, and in not so good seeing.  I placed an image of Jupiter with Io, shot about 15 minutes before the 3 moon images used to create this mosaic, onto a dark area of the mosaic.  Although not the sharpest images of either target I ever took, it does illustrate how small even the largest planet is compared to the moon from our earthly vantage point.  Jupiter is just a little larger than Tycho crater, the splashy crater below Jupiter in the mosaic.
