Description

NGC 884 / NGC 869 comprise an open (double) cluster located ~7,600 light years away in the constellation of Perseus. The cluster is most likely around 13 million years old. They were cataloged by Hipparcos in 130 B.C., but were almost certainly known long before that since they can be seen by the unaided eye from a dark sky location.
