Description

Fighting high clouds during brief window after nearly full moonset this morning (22 DEC). Catalina appeared about as bright as last photographed on 14 Dec but ion tail is definitely shorter.

Tried to comet-align with PixInsight and was unable to get a clear substructure. Those pesky high clouds didn't help.

As noted in my final, the star trails have several gaps in which high clouded subs were removed. In total, about a third of my subs were removed during my 50 minute exposure session. However, the finer details of Catalina's ion tail can be seen.
