Description

First Mars data for 2016. Still in marginal seeing, low transparency.

SCT 11", f/30, ASI224MC cooled camera (it is better!!!)

Five stillframes, 6 minutes derotation of near 5000 frames, four 90 seconds captures.

North polar cap is very slender, due to Mars axial tilt. Syrtis Major very prominent, Elysium mons with a with cloud cap, leaving the disc. Helas. Not south pole! Extremely conspicuous, heavy clouds there. Some hints of the equatorial cloud belt, maybe? Need to do some RGB images.

Just a note about the ASI224MC cooled camera. It really works flawlessly, no vibrations, and a very smooth noiseless background resulting. Cool!
