Description

My yearly attempt at M81 and M82. I think I finally got a picture I'm pretty happy with! M81 and M82 were discovered by Johann Bodes and are collectively known as 'Bodes Nebulae'. They're known as nebulae because at that time in the eighteenth century we didn't understand that these objects were far away galaxies. M81 and M82 are readily visible in binoculars and small telescopes.
