Description

Moon is too big for real imaging so it's a good time for CCDciel software testing and debugging

The setup is an HEQ5, an achromatic 80/400, ATIK 314L+.

Everything running on a eee1000 computer with Linux, INDI drivers, Indistarter, Eqmodgui and Cartes du Ciel.

After making a fully automated Eqmod pointing model using the CCDciel script and a local astrometry.net resolver, I load a sequence of 16 Messier target to test pointing everywhere in the sky, then do a quick 1 minute exposure of each to check the result.

Here is the assembled result with just histogram stretching. In order is M13, M2, M56, M92, M12, M29, M52, M75, M11, M15, M39, M71, M10, M14, M31, M5.

The CCDciel software including tonight fixes is available as version 0.6.2 (en route to stability
