Description

For fun I did this starless mouseover version.  I had just posted this same star version a few minutes ago here and liked the advanced plate solving so much...as it shows some small clusters and a planetary nebula.   I'm not sure now which one to delete...maybe I'll keep both postings 🤪  -john

here's the writeup:

I find star fields compelling, but alas Sagittarius is towards LA light dome for me...and I haven't been able to get up to my dark site.  So I found this wonderful star field near the Clam Nebula.  Hope you like it as much as I do.  To get reasonable unpixelated stars with good pixel scale I used 1.5 drizzle.  The resulting jpg file is 99MBs!  So I down scaled it to 18MBs.  Interesting that the stars still matched the full sized file if pixel peaking, which with the drizzle are so much better.  Hey I even captured a tiny planetary nebula!
