Description

I worked hard to acquire and process this image in order to improve my Milky Way skills. This image is made up of 9 shots using a Canon 50mm f/1.8, stitched in Adobe Lightroom. (ISO6400, f/2.8, 10 sec.) It was taken from home which has somewhat dark conditions. I am between suburban and rural skies with an average SQM of around 20. Often times I would wait for cars to pass in the distance before hitting the shutter release. I also used a type of tracking to minimize star streaking. I set my Star Adventurer up level as opposed to polar aligned and set it to star tracking. (I could not figure a way to shoot a mosaic with the mount in polar aligned position.) As I was imaging in a Southwest direction, this did all but eliminated star trails which I was getting on earlier attempts, even though my exposures were only 10 seconds. Thanks for looking!
